“The 59th United Nations Social Development: Committee Officially Adopted Written Opinion”

Subject: Socially righteous change for sustainable development: The role of digital technology for social development and the well-being of all

Summary: The Korea Inclusive Finance Agency (KINFA) and Credit Counseling & Recovery Service (CCRS), which are policy financial institutions for the working class, preemptively introduced digital financial policies and presented the best response model in the midst of economic crises such as increased unemployment caused by COVID-19.

Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and Credit Counseling & Recovery Service drastically expanded accessibility and convenience to common people who are busy to get a living through innovation in financial services for low-income earners, such as the launch of chatbots and apps that enable 24-hour consultation and application..

In addition, both institutions have established a financial model that conforms the SDGs, contributing to mitigation of income polarization and easing the gap between the poor and the rich by providing financial support, debt adjustment, financial education, and employment support to low-credit and low-income people.

Advanced financial policy and efforts on digital financial innovation by the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and the Credit Counseling & Recovery Service show off the potential contribution to welfare for all, social development, and the implementation of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
